Business Unit Description
Sentient is seeking a Creative Intern to join our brand experts, researchers, behavioral scientists and technologists as part of the marketing team. The term of this opportunity will take place between spring and summer of 2025.
About the Marketing Team:
Our Marketing team drives brand strategy—leading efforts in positioning, product development, and advertising. We are responsible for the development of written and visual creative assets, promotional materials, and client deliverables. Working in close partnership with Sales and Insights, we collaborate on outreach strategies, project organization and execution, and customer success initiatives. Based in Portsmouth, we are a close-knit team that values collaboration, creativity, and communication—bringing ideas to life and delivering exceptional insights.
Position Overview
Sentient’s Emotion AI platform provides scalable neuroscience to the largest brands in the world. To deliver insights to our customers more efficiently, Sentient requires a dedicated resource in creative services. Our Creative Intern will gain hands-on experience by contributing to brand projects—learning marketing fundamentals and observing the impact of marketing efforts.
What You’ll Do:

Complete In-Brand Challenges
a. Practice and hone your creative skills through exercises designed to test your understanding of brand guidelines.

Research Industry Trends
a. Assist the team in identifying and sourcing information (e.g., best practices, social platforms, competitive intelligence)

Content Development
a. Write in-brand copy
b. Use Adobe suite to create brand assets

Knowledge, Skills, Experience
The Creative Intern position is occupied by someone who possesses an interest in marketing, quantitative research, and brand performance. Excellent organization and communication skills are required.
Additional Requirements:
- Availability: Flexible scheduling with commitment of 25 hours per week, compensation provided.
- Location: Hybrid remote. Ability to commute to Portsmouth location 1-2 days a week.
- Skills: Understanding of social media platforms, attention to detail, awareness of current trends.
