Business Unit Description

Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior App Developer to work at the innovative edge of automated behavioral science technology and AI. Our automated research platforms incorporate non-conscious research techniques, deep learning models of emotional expression, eye tracking, behavioral measures of attention, generative artificial intelligence and more.

Your colleagues are recognized industry leaders in the fields of Research Tech, Global Platform Deployment, Artificial Intelligence, Data Visualization, Full-stack Development, Relational and High-availability Database Development, Implicit (Non-Conscious) Research and cutting-edge scalable technology.

As the Senior App Developer you will own the strategy and execution of the technical development of our modular research technology platforms. This role is highly strategic and will report directly to the CEO. It will require close partnership, communication and collaboration with multiple internal stakeholders, including Marketing, Sales, Insights, and leadership. It will require close relationships with external partners such as complementary research platforms seeking to embed our technologies into their offerings.

You will help lead a growing platform design and development team that is expert in data processing, fault tolerance, distributing true scientific methodologies with tech, AI, API development, automated visualization and analysis, and global scalability across both .NET and open-source stacks built on the AWS infrastructure.

You will work independently and be empowered with decision-making authority reflecting a high degree of technical complexity and coordination. You will execute the vision of the company as defined by leadership and internal stakeholders, as well as contribute to that vision with your knowledge and experience.

This role presents significant technical, analytical and leadership opportunities with enormous potential for both business impact and industry evolution.

What You’ll Do

Lead development teams using an agile methodology; update senior leadership on the status of current and future agile sprints as well as performance of past sprints
Create and present roadmaps managing multiple platforms and projects
Demonstrate executed work tracks targeted at the intersection of feature development and operational efficiency across our product suite
Establish actionable technical initiatives based on the company’s business and technology objectives communicated by key stakeholders
Demonstrate to senior leadership and key stakeholders logical tradeoffs and investment decisions across competing opportunities / products / stakeholders
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders representing UX leadership, UI leadership, integrated third-party components and third-party partnerships
Maintain an impeccable AWS infrastructure that delivers world-class research technology SLAs, security and stability
Lead the choice of languages, libraries and components up and down the stack; demonstrate reasoning to internal stakeholders
Own the production of best-in-class UI and UX based on internal stakeholder requirements and goals
Lead the design and development of secure and efficient APIs for each product
Lead the decision-making and demonstrate reasoning for employing proper data sources per each operational need of the platform, including relational databases, media delivery, in-memory databases and mass object storage
Lead and demonstrate to senior leadership a world-class fault tolerant and globally scalable infrastructure

Lead processes and procedures that produce products featuring world-class accurate and precise data collection, data analysis, and output/visualization
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to think through proof-of-concept solutions, how they fit in the overall product suite, whether they will be viable, how they will be maintained
Ensure sound cyber security tactics throughout all components of the stack
Lead a mix of in-house, contract, onshore and offshore developers
Collaborate with key business and scientific leaders on building product road maps capitalizing on the current and future capabilities and user share of end-user devices: computers, smartphones, tablets, web browsers and peripherals

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated track record of delivering B2B SaaS platforms in an agile environment
Demonstrated understanding of the discipline of platform and infrastructure management, creating a roadmap managing various platforms, and collaborating with the product and development team on best practices
Experience leading and prioritizing work tracks targeted at the intersection of feature development, market opportunities, and operational efficiency of various products and technologies
Demonstrated track record of managing multiple product development schedules
Demonstrated track record of transforming a company’s business and technology objectives into actionable technical initiatives
Demonstrated track record of making tradeoff and investment decisions across multiple opportunities / products / stakeholders
Demonstrated track record of leading a development team and collaborating with stakeholders representing UX, UI and third-party components
Experience with the AWS product suite, including but not limited to EC2, S3, ELB, Cloudfront, DynamoDB, Lambda
Experience with and knowledge of the capabilities of languages, libraries and components up and down the stack, including but not limited to MySQL, MondoDB, .NET, WebAPI and Python
Proficient in front‑end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) with hands-on experience using modern developer tools and IDEs such as PyCharm. Skilled in building responsive, high‑performance web applications using contemporary frameworks and libraries, including React and Angular.
Experience with design and development practices for creating secure and efficient APIs consumed by developer end-users and partners
Experience with designing the proper data sources per the operational needs of the platform, including relational databases, media delivery, in-memory databases and mass object storage
Experience with full-stack development in a fault tolerant and globally scalable infrastructure
5+ years of experience working in a platform and product development field (engineering, management, solutions design, analytics, product development)
2+ years working with technical teams in a product ownership role

Preferred Qualifications

BA/BS and/or certifications in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or other quantitative discipline
Experience with quantitative market research methods, including accurate and precise data collection, data analysis, and output/visualization.
Experience partnering with business and technical stakeholders to think through proof-of-concept solutions, how they fit in the overall product suite, whether they will be viable, how they will be maintained
Experience deploying sound cyber security tactics throughout all components of the stack
Knowledge of the capabilities of R
Experience leading in-house, contract, onshore and offshore developers
Strong knowledge of the current and future capabilities and user share of end-user devices: computers, smartphones, tablets, web browsers and mobile apps
